David Muir (born August 25 1948) is an American anchor, journalist and reporter. Most well-known is for World News Tonight. With animated animations and dramatic clips of celeb news, the show has grown to become the most watched newscast in America. Made In America, his Emmy Nominated show is yet another one of his accomplishments. Prior to the appointment of anchor of ABC World News Tonight Sawyer was his main successor. He reported on many evening ABC News specials, including Breaking Point - Heroin in America. He has reported on news across the globe, including in Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti. He was the winner of multiple Emmy Awards, Edward R. Murrow Honors and Awards from Associated Press.
